Media Wall
The focal point
With today’s modern fireplaces and huge flat screen TVs, there’s no better time to combine the two in a clutter-free display, bringing light and warmth to your home.
What We Did
The modern approach
Until recently , you couldn’t really hang a television above the fire. The heat wouldn’t be too healthy for the TV. In older properties the fireplace was the focal point of the room and were quite often too large to comfortably view the television.
Television sizes used to be smaller, but now they are too big for conventional TV stands.
A well designed media wall means you can have a wide, but not very tall fireplace with the TV above, and all cables hidden. This gives a clean, crisp and modern feel.
The fireplace is normally central to a room, and the TV would be occupying a corner, which isn’t the most efficient use of space. A media wall means you can optimise the space, and even create more storage.
Now TVs are connected to Sky or BT boxes, Playstations and Xboxes. This simple design means that these devices are stored behind the TV and all cables are hidden.
In our example we have a slot for the sound bar and a space for the base speaker, but useful storage either side for your game controllers and favourite DVDs.
